Today is the official first day of spring. It seems to feel more like summer during the day but well it's spring. Here in the Hudson Valley we still have 34 days before we can safely plant our annuals outside. See just because it is spring that doesn't mean that it won't get below freezing at night. So for another 34 days I have to carefully watch my Peppers and Tomato's that I started inside to keep them healthy until I can plant then outside.
Of course I just realized one other thing. I haven't mapped out where they are going to be planted yet. So not good. See as this is my 3rd year I need to once again rotate where I put my vegetables so that my soil doesn't get depleted of all it's nutrients.
So in celebration of Spring today I plan to do a little weeding in the gardens....the perennial ones that is. What will you do to welcome Spring to your area?
It's like summer here also with weather in the 80's. I sure hope we don't have another summer like last year. Been working in the gardens the last 4 days and mowed yesterday. More of the same as long as the weather lasts.

I have been weeding, planting, mulching, and moving things around. It is such a joy to be in the garden.
