My little helpers

Both my kids love to help me garden.  But I have to admit my 4 year old likes it far better than my 8 year old.  Can you guess which one is Shannon and which is Aiden.  Bet you'd get wrong.  Then again you may not.  Aiden loves to help me in the garden.  Shannon does too but as she is in school sometimes she just isn't home to help.  Aiden is always finding things like:

A tomato beginning to ripen.

Worms on rainy morning

Lettuce or Rhubarb leaves ready to harvest.

Always ready with Dump-truck to help move garden waist.  Anything to play with Dump-truck and help Mommy

Shannon is always willing to be the teacher.  She loves to help Aiden learn how to do things.

Another tool you will rarely see Aiden without is a shovel.  Man that boy loves dig.

I love watching the kids discover something new about the garden.  Seeing an acorn that spent the winter on the ground now shows roots.  Seeing plants begin to grow where just last week there was nothing.  A flower about to bloom.  My garden is beautiful through my kids eyes.

If for no other reason than to watch my kids learn about the garden and see their joy I will keep my gardens going.
