This past week I found a wonderful blog called The Inadvertent Farmer. Every Thursday KinderGARDENS is hosted. A place to show off what the kiddo's are doing in the gardens. Kim started this years meme on May 5th and it will go till October 6th, with updates every Thursday.
My Aiden guy loves to play in the dirt. But he also loves inspecting the plants with me. Today after our walk home from the bus stop we did our normal routine of walking through the yards looking at the gardens. Seeing what is going on first thing in the morning. Today we focused on the plants he and Shannon started this year.
Looking for flower buds on his cucumber plants.
Showing me that one of the other Cucumber plants not only has buds but open flowers. He is great at finding the small details.
He just found the Pumpkin flower that opened just this morning. He couldn't believe how big it was.
Inside the Greenhouse we transplanted the Eggplants. As they are heat loving plants this is a great place for them. Right now he is trying to read the tag to determine if the one he is looking at is his or Shannon's. As they are labeled SO eggplant or AO eggplant. He found his.
I have mentioned here many times how kids love to play in the gardens. How finding ways to include them in this enjoyable task is important. So join Kim over at The Inadvertent Gardener, and see who else is gardening with their kids and what they have been up too.
Gardening is a blessing. Teaching others is a responsibility. But to enjoy gardening and teach others is priceless.
Welcome - come enjoy my Garden with me
My Garden although it may be small is my garden. I love working in the garden and showing or telling others about it. While you are here take a look around. There is a lot to see. Take a look at the other blogs I love to read. Leave a comment if you like. But most of all. Enjoy your time here, and come back soon.

I'd love to know why you have the mesh down with your cukes and pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteAlso--Welcome to KinderGardens!
I put the mesh down to keep the fruits off the dirt, and as a light weed block.
ReplyDeleteyour vines look wonderful! we have a ways to go before ours match yours...but then maybe that has something to do with the fact that they are still growing in seed trays (i'm trying to keep them away from the cucumber beetles as long as possible!)
ReplyDeleteI love your inquistive little guy! Oh to have a greenhouse like that full of gorgeous plants. Welcome to Kindergardens!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the party! You have a beautiful garden and cute little helper. Ever had flea beetles on your eggplant? I discovered them eating away at mine this evening...not sure what to do. :(
ReplyDeleteWelcome to KinderGARDENs :) I hope your eggplants do well - I wonder if homegrown eggplant will taste different from the store?
ReplyDeleteWelcome to KinderGARDENS! Your pumpkin is looking great and you have a great little helper!
ReplyDeleteWelcome! And don't worry, I joined the "party" a little late, too (just last week)! I love all of these great ideas and I'm learning so much about gardening (since you have a greenhouse, I suspect you're a pro and I'll learn a lot from you)!
