Harvest Memorial Monday

Harvest Monday this week is also Memorial Day.  Thanks to all those who have gone before and served our country to keep is safe and free.

Herbs and Rhubarb were harvested yesterday adding my Mint harvest list to well a lot.  The round basket has wilting Chocolate Mint and the Square basket has wilting Spearmint.  I say wilting as it was hot and buy the  time I took the picture they were indeed wilting making it look like there is more room in the basket than there was.

Harvest Monday - April 4th

Reading through the blog roll again today I found Daphne's blog called Daphne's Dandelion and her post about Harvest Monday.  I do a monthly post Harvesting Edible Garden Tour but that is for a month's worth of Harvesting.  I think adding this one to my ever growing list of community posts will be nice.

So other than my herbs which for this weekly post I don't think I will count....at least not today...I actually do have something harvesting.

This tomato plant is called Sweet N Neat Red.  Small little cherry type tomato's.  The plant it is a determinant one so once all these little guys ripen it's done.

So until my bigger tomato plants are ready to start producing and what not this is what I got.  My first non herb harvest of 2011.  And in NY too.  Granted this tomato plant is a small container one that I have inside and I bought with tomatoes already on it.  Going to save some seeds and or order some cause I like it.  Cute and compact.
