Welcome - come enjoy my Garden with me

My Garden although it may be small is my garden. I love working in the garden and showing or telling others about it. While you are here take a look around. There is a lot to see. Take a look at the other blogs I love to read. Leave a comment if you like. But most of all. Enjoy your time here, and come back soon.

KinderGARDENS (week 8)

This week here at IrishGardens was a week for exploring for the kiddos.

Shannon stopped to smell the herbs....mint her favorite one to smell.
She did a little weeding around her Zinnia's
Finding Cherry's on the ground Shannon explained to Aiden where they came from and tried to point them out on the tree.
They both felt very small next to the Yucca plant...I feel small next to the Yucca plant.
And my redhead saw a butterfly and got her digital camera out and took pictures.  They may not be the clearest of pictures but they are there.

So thats what we did this week in the gardens.  The Inadvertent Farmer hosts this cool meme every Thursday.  I am a day late but others were on time so stop on over and see what others are doing in the gardens with their kids.

Thriving Thursday - The Gardens

Welcome to another addition on Thriving Thursday.  Today I would like to show off the over all views of some of the gardens today.  Being June and just about summer many things are Thriving around the gardens so why add pictures of them all individually when I can show them off together.
This is the new garden in town...hard to see what all it's growing but I will just tell you it is doing great.
If you have read any of my blog then this picture needs no explanation....thats right it's the Greenhouse.  Getting very green.  There are flowers planted in there too....somewhere under the herbs I am guessing.  Anyone need some herbs?
This is another little garden up front.  Most of which was there when we purchased the place but on the lower right is my newest Rose of Sharon bush.  But the true star is actually the Yucca plant....it's beginning to grow on me.
Last but certainly not least is the Grape arbor.  This guy clearly took a break last year from all the wind damage and had a wonderful winters nap as almost every day I am having to go out and retrain a few branches so they don't reach for the trees.

So now it's your turn show off what is Thriving in your gardens.  Leave a link with Mister Linky below and leave a comment.  Don't have anything to show off?  Thats ok too...read what other put or just leave a comment.

Flowers in the Garden Part 2

So here are some more of the Front yard flowers in the newest section of the Blog the Flowers series.

This is the Hydranga....last year is was totallty covered in these heavy blossom stems.  Each one containing tons of little flowers like this one.  This year is wasn't as full.  But still very Pretty.

Looks like a white rose about to bloom close up right?  Well you would be half right.  This is a Rose of Sharron bush.  I have others but this one is different.

This is what it looks like open.  Nothing like a rose.  But very very beautiful.  This version is pure white.  Not a hint of another color to be found.  The pollin is almost white as well.  One of the other bushes that I have is very different in not only color but style.  It looks like it has 2 flowers with in one bud.  There is a second row of pedles inside....I will show you soon when I get to that section of the yard.  But this single layer beauty is well it's beautiful.

And this interesting guy is a Yucca plant.  I didn't really like it much untill it bloomed.  The leaves at the base are cactus like and very pointy.  I thought it looked like an eye sore.  But when it blooms it is better.  These blooms don't last long though.

Here is a close up of one of the Yucca blooms.
And now for my favorite part.  My Roses.  I love roses.  The more colorful they are the better I like them.  Course my favorite flower is a tulip but roses come in a very close second.  So here are some random pictures of my roses from this year.  I hope you like em.
